Police say a drug arrest in Darwin is part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale of illegal substances that may be destined for the city's nightclub scene.

Police say they searched his shop at the Knuckey Street end of Darwin Mall on Friday before making the arrest.
He is facing 18 drug-related charges, including supplying commercial and trafficable quantities of drugs, and made a brief appearance in the Darwin Magistrates Court this morning and will reappear in court tomorrow.
Also in the Magistrates Court today:the case of an Indonesian man accused of people smuggling has been adjourned until next month while the prosecution and defence clarify some of the facts of the case. It is expected the man, who has been extradited from Thailand, will plead guilty to at least one of the three charges against him;

andpolice and security guards had to break up a punch-up between two men involved in a family court matter. One man landed several punches on the other man, then wrestled him to the ground and gripped one hand around his throat.
Meanwhile, police are reporting that:a 25-year-old man who caused thousands of dollars in damage to police vans after he danced on top of one then backflipped on to the bonnet of another outside the casino last night has been arrested;
two men have been accused of causing thousands of dollars damage to the Overlander Steakhouse in Alice Springs on Sunday morning;
