Re: "North Bay Police seize 37 pounds of pot in bust" (Nugget, Feb. 4, 2012).
I have been waiting and waiting for the police to bust the people who are selling oxycontin and oxycondone.
Where is that headline? Are we afraid to insult the pharmacy companies or question those who prescribe it? What is is going to take to get this drug off of the streets?
In the article I am referring to Oxys are mentioned, but the headline is about pot. Sorry guys, the public is not that uneducated.
Oxycontin/Oxycodone comes from a pharmaceutical company. It is not made on the streets. It is prescribed by a doctor, it is not grown on some piece of property in the bush.
As a taxpayer and a frontline worker, I ask, what the heck is going on here?

I agree Sue I also work in the addictions feild and clients coming in for a pot addiction are few and far between. It wouldn't take much investigative work to identify the sources of these hard drugs that are killing families daily.
myteensavers counselors have treated opiate addicts. It's an extremely painful process. These pills are winding up in the hands of teens. They steal them from unprotected medicine cabinets at home. They share them at parties. Parents need to remove these unwanted and unused pills from their home. They also should be using a home drug test kit on their kids.
i agree sue, although i want it all gone, weed, pills, (prescriptions and non prescriptions alike, ie: extacy) mushrooms,,,,, all of it GONE. i have noticed the amounts of pills in ottawa area busts, like a large freezer bag full of just one kind, enough to fill a 1 kg peanut butter jar. it seems to me these oxy's on the street are initially purchased by the bucket full and dispersed in smaller quanities from there. now the only place i can think to get buckets of oxy pills is at the manufacturer. i honestly don't think they are all coming through pharmacies. that leaves a huge paper trail.
